THURSDAYS WITH COLLYBRIGHT

GOD BLESS NIGERIA

Oh my dear country Nigeria
Yet a year older today.
The world knows you as a crime city,
But I believe in your dreams for greatness.

Oh my dear country Nigeria
Yet a year older today.
The world may be blind to see your beauty
But I believe that soon your beauty will radiate!

Oh my dear country Nigeria
Yet a year older today.
The world may see no good in you
But I believe your good has only been clouded by the monsters we harbor!

Oh my dear country Nigeria
Yet a year older today,
It’s only but religion and ethnicity that is breaking your wings,
But I believe soon you will break free!

Oh my country Nigeria
Yet a year older today
The world has only fed their eyes with the darkness that lies beneath your feet
But I believe the sun shall soon shine and heal up your sore feet!

Oh my dear country Nigeria
Yet a year older today,
You wish you had it better
Only if the world could see the shackles holding you captive!

Oh my dear country Nigeria
Yet a year older today
Be the worse, be the least,
Nigeria is you and me!!!
