Being Spirit

I smile at it when people make such passing statements as “my spirit told me not to do it”, “your spirit is this or that”, or “her spirit left her body”. Let us get this clear: you do not “have” a spirit, you ARE the spirit. Even the body, at its very essence, is energy, and spirit is energy. Having a clear picture of your being is important to how you journey through life.

There are a lot of conflicting ideas about you sold to you by people you trust and if you give thought to self-reflection you will see that many of your depressing and confusing moments have directly resulted from an unwholesome understanding of who you are as a body rather than as a Spirit.

At the most basic level, you are Spirit. It is at that level of being that your uniqueness is founded, it is at the level that everything you will become has its root. The physical body is a vehicle of movement through the physical worlds. Apart from Earth, any other physical world that you, as a spirit, desire to, or may be directed to, live on will require you taking on another body native to such physical world.

The physical body alone is a mass of bones, muscles, and blood, all of them formed by precise algorithms in your DNA. The codes that make up your body also exist in the bodies of other humans, that is why there are people who look alike. The human body is an animal body and through natural cravings, without spiritual inclination, we will see that the human body is purely animalistic, still having its genetic script from the primates it was sourced from.

Your union as a Spirit to your body was accomplished in ways mysterious even to the smartest thinkers in the world, because in the merging of Spirit to body the spirit cannot be seen. You know why the spirit cannot be seen? It is because the spirit has the color of water and the mass of air. Think about that.

So, cease seeing yourself as just body with a spirit. You are the Spirit in a body having a physical experience. When you have to make allusion to stirrings or experiences within you, better say “I sense that so and so is so”, “my intuition tells me this or that”, “I perceive this person is troubled”, than saying “my spirit tells me that”.
