INSIGHTS ON LIFE
Without making references to the Bible, I bear my thoughts on the prediction that at the end of days the Evil One shall gather the armies of humanity to wage war against the God of Heaven in what is called the Battle of Armaggedon. After the outbreak of the COVID-19 and the suggestion of a vaccine that comes with a microchip, people, most especially Christians, spoke of the beginning of the reign of the Antichrist which, as predicted in the Bible, would end with Armaggedon and then a new world shall come. In the prediction, humanity will follow the Antichrist to fight God. To me, this is beyond reason. How would men and women decide such a futile adventure? And why would God also marshall heavenly armies to stage war with what a Bible writer called maggots? Why would such a war be needed when God could just cause solar flares to do the cleansing? Though the Battle of Armaggedon is predicted to last just 24hours, imagine the seconds, minutes, and hours of cross-fire between the armies of God and those of Earth and hell. In all these, God will be on his seat looking into the anguished eyes of his ancient adversary, the Devil, as the latter’s army is been decimated.
There shall not be a battle between the armies of God and that of humanity and hell. But there shall be World War III. There can be a war of immense proportion if, for example, an extraterrestrial race decides to overtake Earth or to colonize it. The response which humanity gives to such race can lead to a World War III kind of battle. Or, imagine that one morning, China decides to take over the world and goes on a rampage like Germany did under Hitler. Imagine the escalations, the coalitions, the fierce battle – imagine World War III. Except God is a human, with a weak character hidden from humanity with such titles as omnipotence and omniscient, the battle between the armies of God and those of Earth and hell is a fool’s tale. Fiction. There may be war within humanity and war between humanity and alien races, but a war between a Devil and the God of Creation, carried out because one is a maniac out to prove a point, and the other is the God wanting to correct an ancient enemy, is not a tale worthy of consideration.
Too many questions will pop up even if we agree that God is a man and that he has an equal and powerful enemy in the person of Satan the Devil. I will leave you to think of these questions and you will see that the characterization given to both, if both are equal in strength, has been a false one.
