INSIGHTS ON LIFE

The Lights in Your Tunnel.

There is a light in your tunnel otherwise you wouldn’t find your way to the light at the end of the tunnel. Your tunnel is not completely dark. Little lights, as sparkles of hope, pop up now and then to reassure you that you are moving closer to that grand light at the end of the tunnel.

We all understand the figurative meaning of a dark tunnel. It pictures the worst moments in the life of any individual. Penury, job loss, illness, depression, loss of a loved one, and the many list of ‘bad things’ people experience at a time in their lives, are dark tunnels. Sometimes, these periods are so long people start losing hope of a recovery and then fall into deep despair. The darkness in their personal tunnel become too choking they can’t seem to take a breath towards their salvation. But as bad as it may be, your tunnel cannot be completely dark. There are little lights here and there that guide you towards the tunnel’s end where you heave a sigh and inhale the air of relief. These little lights are the reminders from your heart that you are not yet done with your life. These reminders come with a degree of assurance that lets you know that this situation too shall pass. These reminders might be your passions, your dreams and the potential of their realization, and then your acceptance that your present situation is just a phase that creates a message for those who are in the same situation or who will be.

Other sources of little lights in your tunnel are well-meaning, well-intention-ed family members and friends who offer their support to you in whatever capacity they can. They may not be able to solve all your problems, they may not be able to give you your grand light, but they offer sparkles of reassurance that your big light, your big deliverance, is close by, so walk on to the end of the tunnel.

No matter what are you going through, no matter how dark that tunnel is, find the little lights in and around you, and forge your way to the end of your tunnel. Your big light will receive you. Don’t remain in despair, don’t let the cold air of uncertainty steal the warm arms of hope around you; don’t feel sorry for yourself. You will come out of that tunnel; you will see your grand light. Walk on!
