Nigeria, in the eyes of many, appears as one big entity sleepwalking onto a crossroad, tottering on

With a population of 200million people, Nigeria gives the world so much to expect of it.
Unfortunately, what she is today, by virtue of decades-long negative experiences, leaves less to be expected.

Situations in Nigeria belie every assertion that wise men ever led its governments. Since 1960, when
she secured her right of self-governance, governments at all tiers have failed to present to the people an enviable Nigeria – one that is a beacon upon the hills of nations. Close to 60 years down political independence, she still battles same age-old problems of poverty, economic mismanagement, unemployment, insecurity, terrorism, the myopia of the political class, religious in toleration of a misguided few, and general apathy of all.

The nation has barely taken a leap from yesteryears. All factors of development have lingered in a
single-word status quo: UNPROGRESSIVE. A whirlpool of corruption sweeps both rulers and the ruled, with resultant ridicule and contempt upon the symbol of our nationality, the Passport.

Third world nations, like Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia, which took off the race of nationhood with our beloved country, have made leaps onto first world status. Their citizens now join those of advanced countries like the US and European nations, in the enjoyment of first-class amenities: improved standard of living, world-class education, enviable public infrastructures, ultramodern transportation network, nuclear power plants and other renewable sources of energy, and not leaving out agricultural self-sufficiency which ensures their people are kept well-nourished towards group-preservation.
Where do we stand as a people and a nation? Where do we go from here? Permutations of yesteryears should point to imminent chaos and uncertainty. But that is not the case. In the midst of our seemingly insurmountable woes, we have made commendable but quite insignificant progress. We have begun the journey onwards. Now we must plant seeds of a greater Nigeria. We must exercise our God-given power and privileges and vote for men and women of virtue, dignity, and principles who must propel us forward in leaps and bounds with ideas and vision. We must ennoble ourselves and live as sons and daughters of a magnificent Creator. We must seek out knowledge to fill the vacuum in our minds, set up initiatives and organizations to help the poor and less privileged, treat the sick and wounded, inspire the hopeless, teach the young and bless the old. We must display sincere abhorrence to corruption and all corrupting influences. Collectively, we must seek the face of our Creator in righteousness, and purify our nation of every abnormality. We must stand as one Body and work assiduously for our preservation!
A New Nigeria is on the horizon! A Nigeria where love, peace and happiness reigns; a Nigeria where the commonwealth is enjoyed by all; a Nigeria of prosperous economy with hardworking men and women; a Nigeria where all woes are consigned to the history books. A Nigeria of beautiful faces. A Nigeria of happy families. A Nigeria with an abundance of all that the Earth offers. A Nigeria of virtue and nobility where the exploitation of man against man is never considered. A Nigeria of righteousness. A Nigeria of might. A Nigeria of our dreams. A new Nigeria out of all this chaos.
