We often hear people sincerely talk about “needing God in their lives” or that they want God to be in control of their fate, on the excuse that one needs God to progress in this life or such a one would be rendered useless.

What do people mean when they say they want God in their lives?

What happened to the thought that God is already in our lives?

What people mean when they make this statement is that they want the assurance that their fears will not happen and that they can live a good life in a world they perceive to be full of problems and different shades of evil.

The feelings of powerlessness and hopelessness prompt people to make these prayers that their lives are on God, expecting that God works by actually sitting down to plot the life of the individual through their fears and the problems of human life.

So, to play their part in this, while waiting to have God work in their lives, they indulge in all manners of religious activities. They go to church, mosque, listen fervently to their religious leaders, carry out frequent prayer rituals, read the holy books, and perform other religious stuff with the thought at the back of their minds that God sees these things and God’s service to them is thus guaranteed.

As reassuring as this thinking is, it is a misleading one. Such a person thinking like this has surrendered their powers to something outside of them, without whom they cannot succeed. They live powerlessly because they believe that they are and fears of whether they will enjoy a good life haunt their lives.

It is not that the idea of God should be nonexistent in the minds of people but they must understand the idea of “God in them”. It is a condition of having an amount of universal power within the individual with which they can make something happen for their lives through will and work.

People can be empowered with the idea of “God in us” and never have to live in fear, hopelessness, or lack. The fire that such understanding kindles in the minds of people can burn off those mental programs which keep them powerless.

We need to live as bold people not subject to the various forms of fears that the handlers of this system have created. We can go through life with the calm assurance that the God in us will lead us to places in our minds where ideas and solutions can be birthed to make our lives pleasant.

If we stop living as victims, we can live victoriously and that is what having God in your life is all about. You have a power inside you that you must understand and use. Now imagine if a lot of people can harness such power. That means people will not have to live in prisons of fear but in arenas where they get measures of the good life because it is possible.
