Every time I walk into this room
I step on piercing pieces
of our broken memories
Lying here and there
are moments we held dear.
Buried in pain,
I pick them up
trying to fix them to make a whole
but the failure drowns me
and everything crashes on me again and again and again and again……….

If I had a single wish,
I would wish I could turn back the hands of time.
And rewrite how we ended.
I’ll sew every piece of these broken memories
With the thickest thread of love
So tight that we’ll never be apart.
I would dry up the river we cried
when everything broke.
I’ll plant the sun close to your lips
So your smile will glow with rays of sunshine.
I would do so much
Just so much to make you mine again.

………….but a biting truth gnaws
at the edges of my soul
and it says “No one can turn back the hands of time”
“Nobody can!”
What’s left of us are these broken pieces.
