He is a boxer as skilled as Mike Tyson
His ring lies in his bedroom
Where a punching bag awaits daily
This skill, no one knows
Maybe he would just have won a belt
For his dexterity in the art.
Black and blue
Is how he says ‘I love you!’
These favorite colors
Paints his violence every hour
These colors make her beautiful
For him to behold.
He was not going to stop!
Daily, she wishes
It would be a transient dream
But the reality is not what it seems
Yet she suffers it and smiles
Pain was his language of love.
