WHAT MY FATHER TAUGHT ME

“To survive, you’ve got to have a lion’s heart.”

Author Unknown

Do you know what it means to sleep under the cover of fear?
The drenching fear that leaves you
naked to the hot blasts of vulnerability.
My father taught me to conquer those fears.
Many times, I watched him swallow morsels of pain
and gulped it down with smiles.
He taught me to be strong
even when pain bites hard.
He taught me the art of patience.
I had seen him give everything just to win a smile.
He taught me to love!
I had seen him hang on when everything gave up.
He taught me that sometimes hope sees a light no one else sees!
“When you see the light, hold on no matter what! ” he would say.
Like a house, his words and acts were nails that built this amazing woMAN.
Fathers are everything!!!
He may be gone but his words, deeds, and all that he taught me to live on.
This is not me being sad…
This is just me saying I’m grateful I had a father and I miss him!
