POEMS BY ONE MICAIAH

your shadow looks uglier than you

on the days you dressed your best
to impress the world, it looks baggy
you can’t find your sweet eyes
your arms don’t have a shoulder
your head, plain as plain can ever be
your protruding ass, soundless
your legs, taller than you

and on the days you gave no forks
for the world to eat with it looks lean
and you’re nothing but a stick-looking fellow

yet your shadow looks uglier than you
